whew! what a super long day...my day started with mia's baby dedication ceremony, to brunch @ the nakano's, to 3rd service, to catching a matinee of Shrek 2, to trying to catch up on some reading, to a hip hop show!
some comments:
- heard a great message today at rainier avenue church about being "intergenerational" (Don't break the chain! & Do break the cycle! Psalm 78:1-8)
- Shrek 2 was just "ok"; not as funny as i had hoped and probably could have waited for it to go to video
today ended with me going with cassie to this hip hop show at the asian resource center. this is the second time i've gone with cassie to one of these events put on by wing luke asian museum, and it was kinda the same as the first but still fun! there were some djs, some break dancing, some spoken word, kiwi (bay area mc) performed, and blue scholars (local hip hop group; won best album this year from the seattle weekly).
now i wouldn't say i'm a big hip hop fan, but i do enjoy going to these shows b/c it's fun seeing and experiencing a part of this subculture (and hanging out with cassie). i also do enjoy the music and most of the spoken word and mc lyrics...when i can understand them..haha but i would have to say the best part of both shows was blue scholars. i'm not sure if it's the lyrics i like or the beat or just the vibe off of the crowd or maybe just cause the mc is cassie's friend....but they were the best part of both shows i've been too. oh yeah, and i finally bought their cd...they only had a few left from their first cd run! check them out!

Going Public!
ok..i'm finally going to do it...i'm going to release my blog into the world! or at least make it "known" to those that know me. it's kinda weird..i've had this blog for a year and a half and not a single soul has read it...at least not to my knowledge...tho it would be extremely hard to find if i didn't tell anyone about it. but i guess...what's the point of having a blog if it's not "known". and therefore, i've decided to "go public". ok...way too many "quotes" going on...it's late...i gotta go to bed...
ok...this blog will be made "known" tomorrow! yeah!

"Wonderous Oblivion" & The Amazing Race
Today was a GREAT day! Started off with going to a SIFF film with my roommate (i got the tix free by using my freeloader points...i love freeloaders). The movie actually turned out to be really awesome despite cassie and shiv telling me that it might be a sad movie cause many SIFF films are sad and depressing movies. and i'm happy to say that it was a very good AND happy movie...so happy that i almost cried twice from happiness. oh yeah, the movie was called "wonderous oblivion" and was about a boy, and his obsession with cricket and his friendship with a family that was not liked because of their race. go see it..it's a feel good movie with some good moral like story.
after the movie i finished collecting the items needed for THE AMAZING RACE! cassie and i have been totally looking forward to this BASIC activity all year! and it was finally here! and i have to say it lived up to the expectations. it was a really fun night driving all over the ID and seattle area. i think we had a good mix of challenges, clues and fun! God also provided just the right number of students, drivers, helpers AND He also prevented the rain from putting a damper on the night. SOOOO AMAZING how it NEVER rains on a BASIC activity...PRAISE GOD! He really knows how to have FUN!
some funny things that happened during the race:
- dennis and team getting "lost" by going the wrong way and ending up in west seattle
- simon and team learning what you need to microwave for 8 seconds
- seeing students run all over chinatown and dodging cars
- seeing my team going round and round on all the playground things
- chung and team racing to chinatown again only to realize that they needed to go back to the lid
- my team...somehow...finishing first AGAIN! (i didn't cheat!...really!! but my team did go from last place all the way to first place...anything can happen in the amazing race!)
my first place team
then afterwards, some of the students came to hang out at cassie's house and eat ice cream and talk...it was good...some funny and interesting conversations...good times!
k...that's it for now...oh yeah, and Fantasia did win American Idol...my 100 votes did count!

hmm...still not used to this daily posting thing...
ok, so i watched the american idol final tonight and all i gotta say is "Fantasia BETTER Win!" or else i'm boycotting american idol next year! i even tried voting, but all the lines are busy. this year the fox people are opening up 3 lines per contestant and are letting people vote for 4 hours! crazyness! i got thru 7 times for Fantasia. But it's just too busy.
i also watched my very first 24 hour episode tonight...it was the season finale. i thought i should give it a try cause so many people are so dedicated to the show. i had to see what it was all about. i don't know if i would say i'm "hooked"....it was good...but i'll see what happens when the new season starts.
i also decided not to go to the MI concert tonight..well, i didn't even hear about it until about 5p today...but i had already decided to work on my "project" for the seniors...plus i have to wake up super early tomorrow morning. i get to babysit mia again...yay!
ok...this post is super boring...so i'm going to stop...maybe as i do this more it'll get better? or not.

Ok, it's been a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY long time since I last posted. But after reading a whole bunch of other people's blogs and xanga sites it sadly made me want to post something to mine.
What's been going on with me lately? Pretty much nothing... that is except for quitting my job and now being happily unemployed! I can't really explain exactly how I feel about being unemployed...but it's kinda like a never ending vacation and summer break...feeling like I should maybe be doing something productive (mostly out of habit), adding to society and GDP and all that...and then feeling like I deserve this break and know that I don't really have to do anything for awhile...and that i eventually will go back to work but there's no reason to think about that now.
ahh...life is good...but i can't really express this too much to other people since it'll either make them jealous and want to quit their job or it'll make them think that i'm just a lazy slob. either way they would be right, but we don't need them to know that. :)
ok..now let's see if this posting thing still works...
