on a happier note, it was fun going to and catching up with friends at our kinda annual christmas parties. it's amazing how eventhough most of us from high school don't keep in touch much during the year, we still get together every christmas...i like the familiar feeling i get and it's fun to see what has changed and what hasn't. even with my friends from college...so many have moved back home...it was great to see everyone all together again. fun times!

of course, the question i was asked a billion times was "when are you going to move back?"....and my answer: not for awhile! i just don't think it's time yet.

it was my grandpa's funeral service today....yeah, it was a hard day...but it was good seeing relatives i haven't seen in forever. this whole past week or so has had it's up and downs...i wish i could have shared more of my memories of my grandpa. like how he would always pick me and my sister up from japanese school and take us to kay's crackseed store for shave ice, how he taught me how to throw and catch and got me interested in baseball/softball, how he would take me to the beach all the time when i was little, how he is probably the reason i'm really into sports of all types, how he would always be putting on his sweats and socks anytime the temp got into the low 70's, how i was always so proud to tell my friends that my grandpa still surfs even into his 70's...

i will miss him a lot and i will always keep him in my thoughts and memories so that i can keep him close. goodbye, grandpa.

i don't know why i've started this blog...
- maybe it's because i've been reading so many of my friends' blogs and wanted to try it out
- maybe it's just cause i'm a geek and need to see for myself how it all works
- maybe it's because i feel the need to write my thoughts somewhere...

anyways, only time will tell if i will actually make use of this blog or if it will be yet another wasted page on the web...
